The most successful businesses have leaders dotted throughout their company.

Some of these leaders may not have the ‘title’ of leader and some of these people may certainly not want it!  But you know who they are.

They’re the one’s who walk their talk.  They are helpful and respectful to others, at every level.

They may go about their jobs quietly and confidently and keep the wheels oiled and turning consistently in their department.

Because you know who these quiet achievers are in your company, you should nurture and develop them.  Ensure they know they are appreciated and more importantly that they feel valued.  The saddest thing to see is an excellent staff member moving on (and taking their unique leadership skills with them), all because they didn’t feel appreciated.

These employees are the pearls in the oyster you call your organisation.  Like a pearl, treasure them and treat them well.

I find Leadership a fascinating subject and always have my eye out for interesting and/or thought provoking articles.  This one comes from the Australian School of Business.
